Sailing, music and computer stuff pretty much wraps this subject up.

I started sailing in summer of 2002. (There are tons of sailing pictures in the Photo Albums Section) I've been playing guitar (poorly, but playing non the less) since about 1963. I got into learning computer stuff in the late 80's.

This reads so funny to me today (Jan 28, '06) 40 days later we were back in Lake Placid watching Gavin run his first Ironman. This was our second year to watch. Michelle ran the year before.

This year I noticed how many people were running who . . . . didn't really look the type. Inspiration hit. I signed up for the race in '06.

A few days later Michelle and Gavin drove to visit us and explain that, well, I would probably have a heart attach trying to get into shape in one year. That's how my 2 year quest for Ironman started.

Now, 1/4 of the way through, I find myself at the club 6 mornings a week. Swimming, biking, running, pushing weights and . . . . God it's tiring! I run kind of slow, I like coasting more than peddling and I hope to graduate to "Slow Swimmer" sometime in the next 60 days!

This summer will still be full of sailing. Paul and I have decided that it's time to go take Dad's (Roby) lessons and see what we can do. We'll be racing on Paul's "Amore" this year. Amore is a 36' Dullea, an Italian sailboat - we'll get pictures this year!

And what a great summer it was! We sailed 16 club races in the spring and summer. We helped deliver MacIntosh (a great 44' sailboat) back from Bermuda to New York. We raced the Lake Ontario 300. I did a Duathlon and 4 Triathlons during the summer as well as running the Toronto Half Marathon this fall.

I guess if I was asked what my hobbies are now I'd say just triathlon sports. I've given up sailing until after Ironman in July, and if I manage to pick up my guitar for 10 minutes a week, that's a big guitar playing week. My computer hobby seems to be just updating this site every day.
